Whichever payment processor/merchant account you choose, you will need to setup and administer. Unfortunately, we will not be able to create these accounts for you. We can however provide you with the list of the specific information we require once we know which option you choose.
1. Stripe:
a) Stripe is the fastest, easiest, and most modern way to process credit card payments on your website. If you already have a stripe account, you can provide your account details so that we can connect your stripe account and shopping cart via API. If you do not currently have a stripe account, you can quickly set one up at
https://stripe.com
2. Merchant Account with a Gateway:
a) If you already have a merchant account, you must be sure that your account is set-up to accept online payments via a website.
b) If you would like to use your merchant account to accept payments on your website you will need something called a payment gateway (preferably Authorize.net)
c) If your merchant account is not compatible with Authorize.net and the payment gateway needed is proprietary to your specific merchant account, the installation of a third-party API (provided by your merchant account vendor) would be necessary and subject to a set-up fee. This is assuming that the provided API is compatible with WooCommerce.
3. PayPal / PayPalPro:
a) A PayPal account is FREE but the interface does not integrate into the cart. Instead a customer will be redirected to the PayPal website to complete their purchase.
b) A PayPalPro account is not free but will fully integrate into the cart so a customer stays on your website during the entire checkout process
c) More information about PayPal vs. PayPalPro is available at https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/compare-business-products
d) We also recommend stripe.com
Note: In order to process payments securely on your website, we will need to purchase an SSL certificate on your behalf (if you do not already have one). You will be billed yearly for this renewal.
